1967 Mercury Cougar


Making progress, have stripped off most of the paint down to bare metal.
At some point it had a nice Candy Apple Red paint job on it.
(Real Candy Apple, translucent red over gold base, not just red with gold metallic in it)


Hood and cowl are coming along. Have stripped it and took off all the bondo some knucklehead had used to mold the hood scoop in with.
Now I can glass it in the way it should have been done to begin with.


Back glass area and top of rear quarters are in great shape, no rust at all.
Lower quarters are another story. I have ordered new full length lower quarters and hope to have them by next weekend


Removed the right front fender because it was too far gone.
Decided to cleanup and re-undercoat the inner fender while I had it off

Here is the replacement fender for the right front.
You can see where I have welded up the side marker light, 67 didn't have side marker lights, this is a 68 fender

Here is a closer look at the side marker patch.

Here is a pic of the motor before, I will add new pics once I get my headers in. Hopefully tonight
