Early 289 heads. These are the exhaust bowls before and after I ported and polished them.
The pics aren't that good, I took them with my phone at 2 am under 500 watt hologen shop lights

Early 289 heads, cast # C6OE M 54cc chambers. These are the exhaust ports before and after I ported them.
Notice the smog pump bump in the pic on the left, it takes up about 40% of the port and serves no purpose at all.

All together I am installing stainless steel, one piece 1.94 and 1.60 valves, .600 lift springs, 3/8 screw in studs, guide plates,
hardened push rods, Teflon stem seals, bronze guides, and roller rockers. At $872 it is still cheaper than $1200-1500 for AFR or TrickFlow heads.
For $500-600 savings I will deal with the extra 50lbs of the cast heads
Chris Grutzius did all of the head work for me except the porting which I did myself

More head pics once I get them back from Chris's shop, Franklin Auto Parts and Machine in Benton, IL
